People’s concept of luxury goods consumption is about to change in Japan. In the view of those consumers who have substantial pockets, a $ 1,500 handbag is just a common and usual thing for the middle class. Even those young women waiting in the Tokyo subway stations are carrying LV (Louis – Wyden) handbags. In this more and more wealthy country, consumption for luxury goods is heading torwards a higher level. Those people standing in the top of the pyramid in Japan is showing more personalized consuming needs and primarily luxury retailers are struggling to meet their desire for luxury goods consumption making theire stores exotic shopping places.
In the Japan’s Gucci flag-ship store and Chanel store located in the fashion district Ginza, they have already set up restaurants, small bars and hired advanced chefs. While other businesses also introduced cocktail lounges. Nowadays top brands are all offering top luxury goods but they only sell goods in isolated VIP lounge or member clubs.
Luxury goods has filled the streets in Japan, ranging from scarves, watches with precious stones, perfume to high-quality Italian or French handbags. Japan’s share of consumption for luxury goods has taken up 40% -45% of the global market. “The number of kinds of luxury goods in Japan is so numerous that no country can compare with it.” said a Japanese consuming market researcher in Japan’s advertising company Diamond Agency, Max. Retailers are working hard to meet the conspicuous consumption needs of the top in the pyramid.
Kaori Matsumoto, the director of marketing in Harry Winston, believes that Japanese customers are willing to have some very luxurious products. They want to be treated as celebrities and it will be the next stage of Luxury in Japan. Harry Winston provides jewelry for Hollywood stars, which opens up a VIP lounge in its store located in the downtown in Tokyo designed to provide services for wealthy men.

Some Chinese do not like Japan while some Chinese people like Japan. Whether like it or not, there is one thing that is certain. Chinese people are interested in Japan. Although many Chinese people are interested in Japan, but they know little about Japan and Japanese. Most of them even have never chatted with a Japanese face to face. The purpose of this article I wrote is hoping to introduce to you a real and fashion Japan. Of course, it would certainly include my personal comments. But these comments are just the sake of argument.
In fact, many Chinese people hold a big misunderstanding of Japanese style and they think that Japanese pursue strange Mix & Match deliberately regardless of beauty. If you think so, you are totally wrong. Few people dress in this strange way.Boys and girls on the street dress well and decently. They are very good-looking and most of them have their own characteristics which is based on beauty.
Japanese clothes pay special attention on T.P.O. It means Time, Place and Occasion. Every occasion should have its unique match. Even the children are of no exception.
People are all fit to those clothes they wear, which is different from the UK where people like to wear baggy clothes. The Japanese women are especially beautiful.
Staffs in Dior are very stylish. If we pay close attention on them we will see their fine cut of clothes which almost can not be found in the UK. This style is absolutely the one of the mainstream style of Japanese women.
Of course, this shocking beauty is expensive. I attended a seminar which is an introduction to Japan in the United Kingdom before I went to Japan. The speakers said that almost 76% of women in Japan have at least one LV product.
Not only those who look fashionable men and women have expensive bags of famous brands but also many Japanese who are not outstanding have outstanding bags.
